Size 14 were a LA based 90s power pop band who had a minor hit with the song 'Claire Danes Poster', Size 14 were signed to a major label 'Volcano Entertainment' part of BMG after much interest from other labels. Info on the band and music is becoming harder and harder to find as the years go by, so I've decided to do a post about this band should anyone come across this page. Size 14's only album was recorded by Mike Clink who previously had recorded Guns N Roses, Megadeth and Metallica. I first came across Size 14 in 1999, a recommendation from someone telling me I would "love this group if I liked Weezer", given the time no MP3s or youtube clips were available so I had to take a punt and fork out some 'Ten English Pounds' on a CD from CDNow, from a band I had not heard a note from - sheer madness the youth of today would say. This was a inspired purchase, immediately I was lured by their great melodies coupled with musical talent, humorous lyrics. and some damn sweet bass lines, which would influence the me in future years to come. I quickly found myself being lured to searching Yahoo and Lycos ( we're going back to the dark ages of search here ) for info on the band and came across their old UBL.COM message board. UBL is where I left a few messages looking to see if the band were still together and low and behold bassist Robt Ptak was replying to people, over the years I've kept in tough with Robert, hes really proud of the work the band did.
Size 14 Songs and Releases
Size 14 sadly only released one album and two non album tracks the songs 'Mrs Claus' and 'Give Satan A Hug' which appeared on random compilation CDs ( Give Satan a Hug on Mulletcore and Mrs Claus on VA - A Punk and Ska Christmas Gone Wrong ). Mrs Claus was recorded towards the end of the bands career and is the only song not to feature the original lineup, as Robert Ptak had left the band by that stage.
The band also had some songs featured on Movie Soundtracks: Claires Danes Poster can be heard prominently in Dude Wheres my Car?
Claire Danes Poster was also the bands only single, a promo cd was sent to radio stations to promote the song, two videos were also made.

I Touched Her Ass is on the soundtrack to 100 Women aka Girl Fever, the sequel to 100 Girls, a film that did not need a sequel, thanks for this 'much needed' sequel Hollywood.
Immediately after their debut album 'Size 14' was released the label went under, that quickly put the end to a band who were well ahead of their time.

What are the members of Size 14 up to now?
Since the band ended lead singer Linus Of Hollywood aka Kevin Dotson went on to release numerous Solo Albums, release a female fronted Andrew W.K style band Pintsize with Paul Gilbert, become a member of Nerf Herder and release two EPS with Kay Hanley of Letters To Cleo as Palmdale. Linus currently runs Crappy Records and is currently crowd funding a Jarinus project with Jaret Reddick from Bowling For Soup.
After leaving before the band disbanded, founding Size 14 member Bassist/Backing Vocals Robt Ptak ( Robert Ptak ) formed some bands in New York, these bands were 'Artificial Joy NYC' and 'Bastard Kings of rock', Ptak then managed 'Hong Kong Six' and produced and managed Russell Lissack's ( Bloc Party ) side project Pin Me Down. Robert is currently resides in NYC involved in the directing/editing/producing TV Commercials, lately Robert has starting releasing alot of his Solo material online - http://www.reverbnation.com/artist/index/robertptak
Guitarist Kevin Danczak since leaving Size 14 has been in various bands, amongst them is Captain Genius a L.A powerpop band, Kevin currently lives in LA. Drummer Dave Armstrong is involved in Comedy I believe ( don't quote me on this though! )
